Ray Cortez, Elderly Immigrant Painter Faces Eviction in Brooklyn
Ray Cortez––a skilled painter originally from Peru, now a Park Slope neighborhood staple––was defrauded out of the deed to the home he’s lived in since 1969. Then the bank foreclosed on him, leaving him in danger of being evicted. His son and community are trying to get his fraud case reopened.
